Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono together with the Perumda PAM Jaya Directors, inspected the installation of drinking water piping networks in Kebon Kosong Urban Village, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Friday (11/24).

According to him, the residents' wait of more than 38 years to gain access to a piped drinking water network had now been answered. Thus far, the clean water needs of residents in Kebon Kosong Sub-district, especially RW 04 to 09, still use groundwater and water from jerry cans which are sold using carts.
"It's been 38 years since the residents have been connected to PAM water. I entrust it because they have been connected to PAM water, to use water wisely," he expressed.

"Until now, the number of homes that have expressed interest in having a new PAM Jaya connection is 1,125 of the target of 2,119, equivalent to 53 percent who have registered to become PAM Jaya customers," he explained.
He added that Perumda PAM Jaya was also building a reservoir with 200 cubic meters capacity in Kebon Kosong Urban Village, to maximize water supply to customers' homes.
Residents who want to register for a connection can come directly to the PAM Jaya Sunter Business Area Office or can also go directly to the PAM Jata booth at the Kebon Kosong Urban Village Office.
"The happy smiles of residents who receive piped drinking water is our goal," he stated.
As for the information, the need for a drinking water pipe network in RW 04, Kebon Kosong Urban Village was 282 houses along 1.23 kilometers; RW 05 reaches 330 houses along 3.27 kilometers.
Then RW 06 and 07 with 431 houses with a pipe length of 5.71 kilometers; RW 08 and 09 reached 1,076 houses along 7.24 kilometers.
Installation of network pipes started on September 1, 2023, and there are already 20 houses with running water. Gradually, the work is targeted to be completed in 2024.
